Government insists money is available for social housing projects

The Taoiseach's insisting the "money is on the table" for local authorities to buy and build more social houses.

Enda Kenny's come under questioning in the Dáil from Fianna Fáil and People Before Profit who say there's a disconnect between the strategies of government and the reality on the ground. 

Here in Cork figures released by Cork Simon at the end of last year show a 28% rise in the number of homeless adults in 12 months.. 

Around 20 homeless families were in the public gallery of the Dáil for leaders questions today
