Government to begin talks on public pay restoration

The Government is to begin talks with public sector unions in a bid to resolve the current row over pay restoration.

The talks - which will conclude before the end of January - will discuss "anomolies" in the Lansdowne Road agreement and how to proceed given the recent deal negotiated with Gardaí. 

Seperately - talks on a successor to Lansdowne Road will get under way in the middle of the year.
