Government To Introduce Bill To Dáil To Provide For Regulation Of Professional Home Care Providers

The Health (Amendment) Professional Home Care Bill would seek to ensure home-support services are properly regulated
The bill would establish a licensing system for publicly funded, for-profit and not-for-profit home support providers, in the hope of guaranteeing safe and secure care.
According to Cork TD Colm Burke, who originally introduced the bill, the number of people over 65 will increase from 720,000 at present, to over one million by 2030, meaning that a growing number of people will rely on these services in the years to come.
