Government's emergency response group to meet about flood damage

The government's inter-agency emergency response group will meet today, to plan how to respond to serious damage caused by recent stormy weather. The Junior Finance Minister, Brian Hayes, has already indicated that funds will be made available to help those worst hit. Strong winds and high tides have caused coastal flooding, with Cork among the worst affected counties. The emergency group, which includes government departments, local authorities and the HSE, is due to meet at lunchtime today, to discuss what emergency funding is needed.
