GRA attends Labour Court this afternoon in a bid to avert Friday's strike

The GRA is to attend a hearing at the Labour Court this afternoon, aimed at resolving the Garda pay dispute and averting Friday's strike.

Their middle ranking AGSI colleagues are due at the court tomorrow morning.

It's thought the Labour Court may ask Gardaí to postpone Friday's action, in order to allow the industrial relations body to arrive at a ruling.

The prospect of a Garda strike has raised fears of a spike in crime across the country.
