Granddaughter of former Lord Mayor outlines affect of abuse on her life

The granddaughter of the late former Lord Mayor John Murray has outlined how the abuse she suffered at his hands as a teenager has changed her life.
Elaine broke her silence on the Neil Prendville Show on Cork's RedFM this morning after City Council passed a vote of condolence at it's Monday night meeting.
John Murray served as a Lord Mayor in 1993 and 20 years later John Murray was convicted and jailed for the sexual abuse of his granddaughter in 1996 and he served nine months in prison. He always maintained his innocence.
He died at the weekend and at Monday night's Council Meeting a vote of condolence was passed to the former Lord Mayor's family.
