Green light for redvelopment of former Capitol Cinema site

The €50 million modernisation of the site has been described as a "game changer" for the city.

The €50 million modernisation of the former Capitol Cinema site has been described as a "game changer" for the area.

Cork City Council granted planning permission for the redevelopment which will breathe new life into west side of the city centre. 

The existing building set to be demolished and replaced with a major retail, office and food innovation centre.

The project which is fully funded is expected to be open for business at the beginning of 2017.
