Group opposed to Blackpool flood defense scheme launch fund raising campaign
The Save Our Bride Otters group are seeking €20,000 to launch a judicial review of OPW plans for the River Bride in Blackpool.
The OPW's plan include covering the river with a culvert-something SOBO say should not allowed be allowed to happen.
They are advocating a flood defense scheme where upstream storage, or flood plains, are used to slow the flow of the river before it reaches Blackpool village.
100 people have donated over €5,600 to the campaign in the past five days.
