Health Minister Says Government Are Committed To Tackling Overcrowding At Cork University Hospital

Simon Harris says his department are finalising the details of a winter plan
There are also plans to develop a new elective hospital in the city.
The department have also announced plans to construct a 40 bed extension at the Mercy Univerity Hospital.
The plan follows criticism from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation who say some staff at the CUH are on the verge of burnout following record trolley figures this summer...
Over 1,000 patients were forced to wait on a trolley at CUH in August, prompting the INMO to call for a winter plan to be implemented immediately.
Speaking to RedFM News, Health Minister Simon Harris says increasing the number of beds in Cork will lead to better outcomes for patients:
