High number of patients presenting at CUH
Hospital management are advising the public to contact their GP and to explore alternative options before attending the Emergency Department if their needs are not urgent
A total of 460 patients presented at the ED for review and treatment over the course of the weekend with 195 of those requiring inpatient admission.
It's predicted 150 patients will present to the ED today with some of those also requiring inpatient admission.
Hospital management have stated patients may experience delays.
Additional measures have been put in place to address this demand and some planned admissions to the hospital may be cancelled tomorrow Tuesday 18th April.
