Homeless campaigners say there needs to be public outcry over the crisis

New figures yesterday revealed that almost 10,000 people were living in emergency accommodation last month.

Here In Cork there were 300 adults in homeless accommodation in the last week in February.

Earlier this week, the Cork Housing Action Group staged their second 24 hour protest on the steps of City Hall, demanding  the Government to declare the housing and homelessness crisis an emergency and set up an Emergency Comittee to tackle the issue as a matter of urgency. 

These people say the Government needs to declare it a national emergency.
