Homeless Cork father speaks out against the housing system

A Cork man who has recently become homeless says it's because of the social housing system in Cork. John has been on the social housing list for almost ten years and  says he cannot find a rental property that will accept rent allowance. He says he has now been forced to moved his wife and five children into one room at the Travel Lodge on the Kinsale Road where they have been staying for the past seven weeks. It comes as the average cost of renting a house in the city and county rose by 3.2% last year. Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show John says they were forced to go to a homeless shelter.  Click the PLAY button to hear.
