Hopes Expansion At Pharma Company Could Lead To Jobs Boost

It's hoped the expansion of a pharmaceutical company based in Cork will result in another jobs boost Leeside.

BioMarin has expanded its Ringaskiddy facility to meet increased global demand for its therapies to treat rare genetic diseases that mostly affect children. 

The company opened its doors in Ringaskiddy in 2011 with a worfoce of 12 people and it has since grown its operation with 365 people now employed at the plant. 

It's BioMarin's first investment outside the U.S and speaking to RedFM News Vice President of Operations at the company Michael O'Donnell says Cork has been a successful location for the firm:
