Hopes new Munster based flying doctor service will be in place by next Spring

It's hoped plans for a Munster based flying doctor service will come to fruition by Spring of next year. 

The initiative is being built on the success of the West Cork based Irish Community rapid response doctor service which was set up in 2009 and which has been credited with saving lives at pre-hospital emergencies.

The service will be based out of Cork Airport and will need €2 million each year to sustain it.
