Hopes That Investment At Cork Pharmaceutical Company Will Bring New Opportunities

BioMarin has announced a new drug product filling project investment at its Shanbally facility estimated at around €40 million

It's hoped a significant investment at a Cork pharmaceutical company will bring opportunities for regional employment and provide a boost to the local economy.

BioMarin has announced a new drug product filling project investment at its Shanbally facility estimated at around €40 million.

51 new jobs are expected to come on stream as a result of the investment bringing the firm's Cork employee numbers to 400.

A planning application will be submitted in the coming weeks and it's expected another 100 jobs will be created during construction phase. 

Speaking to RedFM News Vice President of Cork's BioMarin facility Michael O'Donnell says there's a wide range of jobs coming on stream and the future looks bright:
