HSA begins month long farm inspections

The Health and Safety Authority is beginning a month-long intensive farm inspection campaign aimed at reducing the number of serious and fatal accidents on farms.
Cork was among three counties in the country that the highest number of farm fatalities last year and this campaign aims at minimising the risks on farms..
Inspectors from the Authority will visit almost 500 farms over the next few weeks and there will be a particular focus on the safe handling of livestock.
Speaking to RedFM News Brian Higgisson of the HSA says Cork has the highest number of dairy farms in the country and the risks on these types of farms are very high
