HSE Launch Investigation After Sensitive Patient Data Discovered In City Centre

The HSE have launched an investigation following the discovery of sensitive patient data in the City centre.
The data was found on South Terrace late last month and contained the names, ward locations, treatment details as well as admission and expected discharge dates of patients at Cork University Hospital.
The documents dated the 31st of January 2019 also contained patients contact details and reasons for missed appointments.
The printouts, which included details of patients in the Children's Ward were returned to the HSE South Consumer Affairs Officer and the Data Protection Commissioner was informed of the breach.
