Huge increase in number of young people seeking help from Pieta House

The number of young people turning to Pieta House for help has increased by 163% over the past five years.

It follows recent figures from the charity which show that their Cork office is their busiest one in the country.

Pieta House is launching it's Resilience Academy as a result of the surge in demand in a bid to protect people from suicide and self harm. 

The programme has been piloted on second year students in four schools and will now be rolled out nationwide.
