€2 milllion investment needed in English Market

Investment to the tune of €2 million is needed over the next decade to enhance the English Market and harness its potential benefit to tourism and the local economy.

That's according to the chairman of the English Market Traders Association who says they have been in consultation with the City Council to develop an investment strategy in the coming years.

The iconic Cork landmark is need of infrastructural works including roof repairs and traders say its importance to tourism in Leeside shouldn't be underestimated.
