IDA: Spate of jobs announcements show Apple Tax ruling isn't affecting business
Hundreds of jobs have been announced across the country this morning.
Up to 1,300 direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created as a result of a €150 million investment in a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing campus in Ringaskiddy.
The announcement which was made this morning by GE Healthcare is expected to further cement Cork's position in the biopharmaceutical industry Leeside.
The construction phase, subject to planning approval, is expected to begin by mid- 2017 and create up to 800 construction jobs.
When fully operational GE BioPark Cork will be home to more than 500 new jobs - 400 with biopharma companies and a further 100 employed directly by GE Healthcare.
Elsewhere 40 new jobs have been announced in Dublin at pharmaceuticals company Mallin-crot.
OneView Healthcare are to hire 100 people with 50 based in Dublin.
While MathWorks has announced 50 jobs at a new centre in Galway.
