Increasing Drink Driving rates across Cork a "worry"

Lives continue to be put at risk across Cork as the number of drink drivers has risen by 11%.
The figures were revealed by Chief Superintendent Barry McPolin at the most recent Joint Policing committee, and were described as worrying.
Despite an increase in checkpoints across the city and county, 82 people were arrested for drink driving between December 2016 and February just gone.
The latest figures for the city are in line with a national increase, which confirmed that Cork was no better or worse for drink drivers than any other part of the country.
Speaking to RedFM News road safety campaigner Christina Donnelly who lost her son Brendan to a drunk driver, says she will continue her campaign despite people continuing to drink and drive:
