INMO Demand HSE Address Various Issues At Cork University Hospital

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation are demanding the HSE address the recruitment and retention crisis, the lack of bed capacity and the implementation of a winter plan at Cork University Hospital.
The nursing union say staff at CUH have had a 'relentless summer' and are warning that some staff are on the verge of burn-out.
Frontline staff say a winter plan must be drawn up in the next few weeks to avoid chronic overcrowding at the hospital.
The call follows the release of new figures which show 1,051 patients for forced to wait for a bed at CUH last month.
There are over 130 vacant nursing posts at CUH and the Maternity hospital, while the latest INMO trolley watch figures show 1,051 patients were forced to wait for a bed at CUH last month- an average of 34 people on trolleys every day.
