INMO Say Funding To Tackle Hospital Overcrowding Crisis Still Not Released
Last Friday RedFM News broke the story that €26 million had not been given to hospitals
It was due to be released at the end of October to provide additional beds and staff.
The INMO has confirmed that as of today- the funds, which include €5.5 million to provide 31 extra beds and staff at CUH - have not been released.
It's now expected the money will be accessible next week.
The INMO are warning that patients are being put at ever-increasing risk by a lack of resources and say their members are being faced with an inhumane working environment.
Speaking to RedFM News, Liam Conway from the INMO in Cork says the delay is leading to considerable distress for patients and staff:
