Pay talks are set to dominate the unions' three day conference in Cork
Pay is the number one priority for nurses and midwives in Ireland today.
That's according to the industrial relations officer for the INMO in Cork, who made the comment on the first day of the unions annual conference in the city.
Pay talks are set to dominate the three day conference as unions call for the 12% pay gap between nurses and other health professions to close in order to retain vital staff
An emergency motion on pay equality will be debated at the conference tomorrow, the union wants to see progress on the issue before the budget estimates for 2018
Speaking to RedFM News Liam Conway from the INMO in Cork says recruitment and retention of graduations is a major problem that only pay increases can solve
