International Lawyer From Cork Appeals To US Government To Reconsider Deportation Of Fermoy Man

Keith Byrne, father of three, signed his deportation order which means he could be deported in the next three weeks 

An international lawyer from Cork, based in London, is appealing to the US Government to reconsider the deportation of Fermoy man Keith Byrne 

Michael Kingston, who is originally from Goleen, says he believes Keith Byrne's case should be treated as an "exceptional circumstance" .. 

On Friday the father of three signed his deportation order which means he could be deported in the next three weeks. 

He has been living in the United States since 2007, after overstaying his visa. 
However he was arrested by Immigration officials last week in Pennsylvania on his way to work, where he lived with his wife and children. 

The Tánaiste confirmed yesterday that the government is actively involved in the case 

Speaking to RedFM News Michael Kingston says he has raised Keith's case and made representations on his behalf to a number of politicicans Stateside when he was in the US last week:
