Investigation underway after discovery of body in Cork shop
Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a body in a city centre shop this morning. A body of a woman in her 60s was discovered by staff when they went to clean toilets at Dunnes Stores in Patrick Street just before 8am this morning. According to gardaí, it appears the woman had gone to the toilet before the store closed yesterday evening. It is believed she died after collapsing and her body remained there overnight. Gardaí are awaiting a post-mortem examination later today which they hope will confirm the exact cause of death but say there is nothing to suggest anything suspicious about the death.
