Investigations continue after Northside bank raid
A lone robber armed with a knife held up staff at the Ulster Bank in Blackpool.
Gardaí are continuing to investigate an armed raid which took place yesterday morning at a bank on the northside of the city.
A lone robber armed with a knife held up staff at the Ulster Bank in Blackpool before a security capsule exploded and he was left covered in purple dye.
He made away with a bundle of cash which was also covered with the ink and anyone who comes in contact with the purple covered cash is asked to contact gardaí.
No one was injured in the incident and gardaí are now examining CCTV footage in a bid to identify the culprit who is described as 6ft in height and of strong build.
At the time of the robbery he was wearing grey pants, a dark hooded sweatshirt and a grey baseball cap and anyone with any information is asked to contact gardaí at Mayfield on 021-4558510.
