Irish Families To Throw Away Hundreds Worth of Food Over Christmas

Each family across Ireland will throw out €700 worth of food over the Christmas Holidays.
That's according to the Environmental Protection Agency who are calling on families across Cork to compost as much of the food scraps as possible following the Christmas Dinner.
They say that Irish Families can embrace a greener Christmas by planning how much food they will need, how to shop wisely and how to use left overs for meals over the festive period.
Speaking to RedFM News Dr Jonathan Derham from the EPA says families should aim to reduce the amount of avoidable food waste this Christmas:
