Irish Open attracts 105,000 visitors to Fota

Failte Ireland says the Irish Open was a huge success as record breaking crowds descended on Fota Island Resort as it basked in the glow of a heatwave. Top golfers from across the globe travelled to compete in the event which also provided a unique opportunity to showcase all that Ireland has to offer as a record breaking 105,000 visitors spilled through the gates at Fota Hotels, restaurants, pubs and entertainment venues in Cork city and environs also benefited significantly from the influx from domestic and international visitors attending the event
