Irish Red Cross assisting Ambulance services amid hazardous conditions

The National Ambulance Service is dealing with challenges posed by Storm Emma.

It's received a record number of requests for assistance since the country was hit by the severe weather.

The trained volunteers have helped with the transfer of patients and staff to medical facilities, among other tasks.

Tony Doyle from the Irish Red Cross says they remain on standby to help as the focus switches from the big freeze to potential flooding.
