A social acceptance of women getting drunk could play a part in Irish teenage girls being among the world's biggest binge drinkers.

A study by The Lancet found that 61% of Irish adolescents are considered binge drinkers.

Teenagers living in Denmark and Finland were the only ones to drink more.
