iWish Event Underway In City Hall
An event taking place in Cork designed to inspire, encourage and motivate young female students to pursue careers in STEM has heard there's plenty of career opportunities in the industry Leeside.
According to recent figures just 20% of students beginning university physics courses were female, the same number was recorded for the number of female students starting ICT courses.
Kinsale's Ciara Judge who was won the Young Scientist competition with two of her class mates in 2013 was also speaking at the iWish event.
She's now studying genetics in UCC and she has this advice for anyone thining of a career in STEM:
