Jobs boost for Cork

It's being reported that hundreds of jobs will be announced in Cork by one of the world's leading medical technology companies. According to today's Irish Examiner the Stryker Corporation is expected to make a formal announcement of its plans this week to build the new facility at Carrigtwohill in East Cork. The company already employs around 700 people at its two plants in Carrigtwohill, where it manufactures minimally-invasive surgical instruments and hip replacements, and currently employs around 700 people. Another 500 are employed in a factory in Raheen, Limerick. The new Carrigtwohill facility is expected to be built before the end of the year.
