Judge sparks outrage over remarks about Karen Buckley
The 24-year-old from Mourneabbey was murdered in Glasgow earlier this month.
A judge in the UK has sparked outrage after suggesting that Cork student Karen Buckley 'put herself in a vulnerable position' on the night she died.
District Judge Nigel Cadbury was sentencing another woman for assaut outside a pub and commented that young people are drinking so much they don't even know he they're with.
The Judge compared the situation to what happened on the night the 24-year-old from Mourneabbey was killed by adding "One only has to think about the horrible situation in Glasgow to see how serious this could have been. It's very, very worrying how young girls put themselves in such very, very vulnerable positions."
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show this morning Mallow County Councillor Dan Joe Fitzgerald is calling on the judge to reconsider his comments:
