Judicial Review Into Morrison's Island Flood Defence Plan Before The Courts Today

The application was brought by the Save Cork City campaign group
The application was launched by the group over fears the plans would have a detrimental impact on the historic fabric of the city with emphasis on raised quay walls.
It comes after the €6 million project hit a stumbling block after a recent European Court of Justice ruling which now requires the local authority to carry out a new screening process which is expected to cause delays.
It's understood Cork City Council will not contest the judicial review being mounted by the group however the local authority has previously said it remains committed to the delivery of the full project and that no changes to the project design or scope are required or are being proposed.
However speaking to RedFM News John Hegarty of Save Cork City says they're holding out hope that some changes will be made to the design of the scheme:
