Just 83 Apartments Were Built In Cork In 2017

The figure comes as the Irish Planning Institute says developers feel they can't make money building apartments

644 were built nationwide in the third quarter of this year at a time when there is almost 10,000 people homeless. 

That's a slight decrease on the number built during the same period of 2017.

However there was a 23% increase in the overall number of dwellings completed.

Economists say a shortage of apartments is increasing the pressure on the housing crisis.
