Last Month Was Worst April On Record For Hospital Overcrowding

Last month was the worst April on record for hospital overcrowding according to figures released this morning from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The INMO says there were 10, 229 patients admitted without a hospital bed, an 8 percent increase on April 2018 and a 125 percent increase on the same month in 2006 when records began.

There were 826 patients on trolleys at Cork University Hospital, while Limerick University Hospital was the worst affected with 1,026 patients on trolleys
