Less than 10,000 properties added to Ireland's housing stock over the past five years

According to the census - home ownership is at its lowest level since 1971 - while most people can't afford to own a home until they're over 35
Just 8,800 homes were built over the past five years - compared with more than 225 thousand between 2006 and 2011 - while there were over 180 thousand vacant dwellings.
Sinn Féin's spokesman on Housing Eoin O’Broin says the figures highlight a number of concerns.
