Link Road In Douglas Village To South Ring Road To Remain Closed For Months

A road linking Douglas village to the South Ring Road could remain closed for months following a massive fire at Douglas Village Shopping Centre.
That's according to the developer of the centre Clayton Love who told The Echo that there are no plans to open the road facing the multi-storey car park due to health and safety concerns.
The shopping centre has been closed since a fire broke out in the multi-storey car park last month.
Local councillors say the continued closure of the road is causing major congestion in the village and are calling for it to be reopened as soon as possible.
