Locals Say The €100 million Redevelopment Of Wilton Shopping Centre Will Cause Traffic Gridlock

An Bord Pleanála has given the green light for the project following a number of objections to the original planning
Residents in Wilton say a €100 million redevelopment at the Wilton Shopping Centre will cause traffic gridlock in the area.
The Wilton Community Action Group made the comments after An Bord Pleanála gave the project the green light following a number of objections to the original planning permission.
The plan includes a partial demolition of the existing building and the construction of an extension which ranges in height from 2 to 7 storeys.
The development also includes a 190-bed hotel, a 14-screen cinema, office space, restaurants and cafes and a multi-storey car park with space for almost 900 cars.
Speaking to RedFM News, John Bowman from the Wilton Community Action Group says the plans will mean Wilton Road will be busier than ever.
