Lord Mayor Calls For Implementation Of MacKinnon Report

The Lord Mayor of Cork is calling on the Governement to implement the recommendations of MacKinnon report immediately.

It comes following discussions between the author of the report and council members at the city hall yesterday.

One of the reccommendation within the report proposes the extension of the city boundary to include areas such as Blarney, Glanmire, Carrigtwohill and Little Island in the city remit.

The expansion will also see the city's population increase by 100,000.
