Lord Mayor calls for urgent North Main St. revamp

It comes after Dunnes Stores announced that it's to close their outlet in the North Main Street Shopping Centre.

The Lord Mayor has written to management at Dunnes urging them to reconsider their plan to pull out of the street.
Traders on the street have expressed their concern and say if Dunnes withdraw from the shopping centre the next priority for the city has to be getting another outlet to fill the space as soon as possible.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM, Lord Mayor Cllr Chris O'Leary admits that dereliction is one of the biggest problems facing North Main street:
