Lord Mayor to Meet President Trump later today
The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Des Cahill, is to attend the Presidential Reception in the White House later today to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, at the invitation of the US President Donald Trump.
The Lord Mayor of Cork says he is looking forward to bringing a positive message from Cork to the White House and says the visit is a great opportunity to promote Ireland's second city.
He says Cork City has been very successful in transforming itself into a location of choice for some of the world's top companies.
Speaking to RedFM News Lord Mayor Cllr Des Cahill says Cork's educational pedigree and quality of life has helped to attract and retain many successful US firms to the city and he is happy to bring that positive message Stateside:
