Man (20s) found guilty of murdering homeless man whom he told a drug dealer he 'put out of his misery'

On Friday, Philip Dunbar, of Glenshane Drive, Tallaght in Dublin, will be handed the mandatory life sentence for murdering Adam Muldoon in June 2018
A 20-year-old man has been found guilty of murdering a homeless man, whom he told a drug dealer he 'put out of his misery' because he had cerebral palsy.
Adam Muldoon’s body was found in Jobstown Park on the morning of June 23 2018.
The young homeless man had been stabbed 183 times.
Philip Dunbar accepted going into the park with Mr Muldoon, but he denied murdering him, claiming he had no memory of what happened after they entered.
He told Gardaí he had taken pills and had been hearing voices for weeks beforehand.
One witness told the trial that Dunbar boasted about what he had done, saying he now knew what it felt like to be a killer.
The same witness also claimed Dunbar told him he did it to put Mr Muldoon “out of his misery.
The jury convicted him of murder after deliberating for just under three hours. He’ll be sentenced on Friday.
