Man arrested and charged in relation to 11 incidents that occurred on a single day in County Cork 

The incidents happened in Fermoy and Carrigaline earlier this month

A TV and other items were stolen from a house in Fermoy and three cars were broken into in the same estate on January 2nd. 

Gardaí examined the scene and gathered CCTV footage.

Gardaí in Carrigaline were also alerted that cash, bank cards, jewellery and other items were stolen from three cars in the town later that day

Attempts were also made to gain entry to a number of houses. 

On January 19, Gardaí from Fermoy executed a search warrant at a house in Waterford where they recovered a TV that is believed to have been stolen from the house in Fermoy.

A man in his 20s was arrested in Cork City yesterday and was brought to Fermoy Garda Station.

He has since been charged in relation to the incidents and is due to appear before Fermoy District Court on February 5th.  

Crime Prevention Officer for the Cork North Division, Sergeant John Kelly said:

"Wherever you park your car, we would always advise you to take your property with you and ensure the vehicle is locked and alarmed. I know it’s the last thing you want to do after a hard day’s work and sometimes it is impractical to remove tools and equipment into the house, but we must try make it difficult for criminals who see our vehicles as easy targets.
