Man arrested in connection with Bank Holiday sexual assault in Cork city restaurant
Gardaí investigating an alleged sexual assault at a restaurant in Cork city over the Bank Holiday weekend have arrested and questioned a man. The incident, involving a Spanish woman in her early 50's happened at a restaurant on Daunt Square at around 3.30am on Bank Monday morning. Security staff at the restaurant intervened to help the victim once the alarm was raised and management at the restaurant say they're working closely with gardaí and assisting them with their investigation. Shortly afterwards a 27-year-old man was arrested and detained for questioning at the Bridewell garda station but was subsequently released without charge A file is being prepared for the DPP
