Man dies after being injured in bike accident
A 48 year old cyclist has died after being fatally injured in a bike accident in the city The man was cycling down Shandon Street at around 20 to six when he fell off his bike and suffered serious head injuries. The Togher native failed to recover from his injuries and died at Cork University Hospital shortly after midnight. A post-mortem is due to take place later today and gardai will later prepare a file for an inquest at the coroner’s court Gardai in Mayfield are appealing for witnesses, but say the accident didn't involve any other party.
