Man to appeal longest ever jail sentence for drug offences

Perry Wharrie was sentenced to 30 years in jail for his part in the record €440 million cocaine seizure in West Cork.
An Englishman given the longest ever sentence for drugs offences following a botched cocaine smuggling operation off the Cork Coast will today appeal the length of his sentence.
Perry Wharrie was sentenced to 30 years in jail for his part in the record €440 million cocaine seizure at Dunlough Bay on the Mizen Peninsula in West Cork on July 2nd 2007.
