Man to stand trial before the end of the year for the murder of Cork woman

The man charged with the murder of Cork student Karen Buckley will stand trial before the end of the year. The 21-year-old is due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff’s Court again on Friday for a full committal hearing. The prosecution will then to prepare for the preliminary hearing, which must occur within 110 days from the point of full committal. It comes as the Buckley family who returend home to Mouneabbey over the weekend await news on when Karen's remains will be released by Scottish authorities. Irish Times reporter Barry Roche attended the vigil for Karen Buckley in Glasgow over the weekend and he told the Neil Prendeville Show that the people of Glasgow have witnessed great tragedies lately and they kept relighting the candles after the vigil was over.
