Mandate say wages of some Tesco employees under threat

The union say management at the supermarket chain have agreed to negotiations.
Mandate Trade Union have hit out at Tesco Ireland's Management amid claims they intend to cut the wages of long serving staff members.
They say employees who have been working at the supermarket chain since 1996 have been notified of intended changes to their employment which include a loss of over 6,500 euro per year as well as a loss of some allowances.
Tesco Ireland has been contacted by Cork's RedFM but they have yet to comment.
Mandate says the changes will affect almost 1,000 members of staff but it's unclear at this stage, at which stores.
Union spokesperson Gerry Light told Cork's RedFM that Tesco have agreed to negotiations but that staff received no warning about the changes.
